Director - Leonie Semmens

Hi! I'm Leonie, owner and creative director behind Inspire Book Box. I live in Melbourne with my three beautiful boys and amazing husband. I have loved books my entire life and when I became a mum, I very quickly built up my children’s book collection. Reading is such an important part of our daily lives at our house, there are books in almost every room.

I started my business journey after the birth of my second child, and dabbled in a few ideas before meeting the founder of Inspire Book Box, who was looking for a partner to join her in growing this amazing business. I took on co-ownership in July 2019, and took over sole ownership at the end of 2020 when she stepped away to focus on her gorgeous family.

As a mum and avid reader, I understand that reading at an early age leads to improved communication skills, greater concentration, advanced language skills and increased cognitive development. Incorporating books and stories into play and learning activities also increases engagement and excitment. Not to mention that books create irreplaceable joy and lasting memories we carry through to adulthood! But I also know how busy life gets, and how hard it can be to find the right books or activities to engage our children.

This is where Inspire Book Box can help. Every box will put great books in the hands of your children without stress or hassle. We inclde easy to implement ideas and strategies developed and refined by qualified teachers to ensure sharing a book becomes a wonderful childhood memory for everyone. We also develop all our boxes with engaging activities that help ignite your child's enjoyment and passion, so that they learn the love of reading. You will be able to build your child’s book collections, instill in them a love of reading and have fun doing it, all in an easy, affordable and exciting way.
