Three Little Pigs Hand Puppets

The Three Little Pigs: Bring this classic fairytale to life

The three little pigs and the big bad wolf is a classic fairytale that has endured for centuries.  Many different versions of this story exist, and can be found on bookshelves around the world.

These cute hand puppets are based off the titular characters of the story, The Three Little Pigs, and their nemesis, the Big Bad Wolf.  They are a great prop to use to engage your young readers in the story, and can be used in retellings or story theatre, as well as imaginative play.

Simple to make and use, these are a fun bookish activity for all ages!

What you'll need

  • Puppet templates - get ours here
  • Crayons or textas
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape

How to make them

1.  Use your crayons or textas to colour in your three little pigs templates and your wolf template.

2.  Once all your templates are coloured in, carefully cut all four out, including around the handles.

3.  Fold along the dotted lines to form your puppets.  Younger crafters may need help from mum or dad.

4.  Fold your handles over and glue or stick them to the back of your puppet to secure.

5.  Use your puppets by feeding your hand carefully through the handle and using your fingers and your thumb to open and close the puppets mouths.  Now you're ready to use your puppets to act out the story!
